Erie Canal Solo

Hi,

I am planning to take my 35 foot sailboat from cleveland to the bahamas. Is it possible to navigate the erie canal solo with all the locks and what not?

I went thru the Erie Canal 2003.
It was great fun and everyone very helpful.
The lock tenders do give you time to tie up.
It would be easy for one person to do.
You could however on your way over stop at the marinas as I''ve seen done and pick up
people wanting to share the experiance.
However I went on down the island chain and found them much easier and interesting than the Bahamas. A lot less expensive!!!

Hi, we did our canal transit last summer before sailing to Florida. We saw quite a few singlehands. Once you get the hang of it locking is easy, so relax and enjoy it. You''ll be fine.
