Where to put boat on hard for summer in FL or Bahamas

We are thinking of leaving the boat in the Bahamas for the June-December period.

Or is it strongly suggested to put her in FL?

Need a place to do the usual 2-3 weeks maint every time we come down to head to the Islands as well. So we are looking for a DIY yard as well as storage.

Hopefully not a super expense.

Thanks in advance for info,

Glymroff,
s/v Island Pearl
Bahamas :-)

St. Johns River or Brunswick Ga. Or you could place it on the hard near Lake Okeechobee Fl.

Would prefer the bahamas, Fl as last result.

I have exp w/ Indiantown and would never go back there.
I've heard from several people about St Johns & St Mary's

Black sound on green turtle cay in the abacos. Good hurricaine hole with moorings or land storage with strapdown.
short ferry ride to treasure cay airport

Fla has plenty of places. Best protection is up the st lucie river but the bridges are a bit low, in the 50's or up the st johns river in green cove springs

West of canaveral is westland marina in titusville

harbortown in ft pierce is good too

When I had to leave my boat in Florida during hurricane season my choice was Indiantown Boatyard. I thought it was the safest option as it is inland.

I was happy with my time there and their facilities.

I was a DIYer and also had some metal fabrication work done locally.
