If you get any info on this please let me know I draft 6'9" yikes. I will be that way in June. I did not find much info on Port Isabella try Google and do an image search sailing in Port Isabella. I will be in Port Lavaca up by Corpus.

We are leaving Galveston the first of May and will spend May and June cruising between Galveston and S. Padre. We might run into you. We have a 38 Islander Freeport "MAKIN' MERRY". The Campbell's Guide to Cruising Texas is a useful book for most of the Texas coast. Although it does not have much anchorage info for S. Padre/Port Isabel, it is very good for Matagorda Bay, Port Aransas, and Corpus Christi areas. Your deep draft is certainly going to limit you.

I have been researching the same issue as we are preparing for a December 06 departure from Kemah, TX to Veracruz. The only anchorages that I see so far are just inside the Port Isabel cut, either side of the cut. Also, I believe I remember a low power line across the bay. Anyway, Good Luck.
