I would like some information on finding an inexpensive and safe mooring in Tortola for my 44 foot catamaran this upcoming winter from late november until april. Preferably in Tortola or any easy accessable island by air from the U.S.

Check out Barecat Charters. They just expanded their operation in Fat Hog Bay, Tortola. Currently, they probably have more space than boats. Don''t know how long that will last or what they charge for moorings. I have a catamaran in charter service with them and they are really great to work with.

In St. John''s (USVI)the moorings are free. Don''t know if they cater to long term unattended mooring though...

you might want to look at Roadtown, southeast corner of Tortola.Decent anchorage with short dingy ride to resturants, short walk to customs and town. Also short taxi ride to airport.Anchorage is free. You can get just about any repairs done there as well, including haul out.
