I also have a Spray 36', and my so-called pig of a boat, according to Jeff H has always done very well in my opinion, as some one that has about 45000 miles in one.
14 of us left out of panama going to the Marquesas the same day. We were the 5th boat to arrive and all we carried at the most was twin headsails. Ketch rigged, and no running backstays are necessary when designed and rigged right.
