Hawaii & San Diego Area Guide Books

In the northwest we have a guide book that's just great!
It's called Wagoner's Cruising Guide. I'd like to find a comprehensive guide book for the Hawaiian Islands and the San Diego area.
Does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks

The Cruising guide to central and southern california is available on Amazon.com

I have no idea if it has been updated recently. It was once considerd quite good.

The Guide mentioned by Mr. Benson is written by Brian Fagan. There is a
Cruising Guide to San Diego Bay by Ed & Barbara Bowler that is pretty detailed also. Also check the website for the area's boating newspaper The Log, they have guides etc. online for most harbors.

Charlies charts. The best books I've ever found for cruisers. And lonely planet books for local knowledge away from the water

I read some of the overviews of Charlie's Charts. Sounds good, thanks!
Brian Fagen looks good too! Thanks to all of you.
