Marinas from Charleston to Florida

I am planning on a Christmas cruise from Charleston to Florida. Once in Florida I am planning on Disney for my Daughter. Could anyone tell me of a good Marina either in Cape Canaveral or in Daytona Beach? Which would be the best?

Marinas from Charleston to Florida

In April this year we stayed at Cape Marina in Cape Canaveral and were very pleased with the facilities and the staff. It has a good view for space shuttle launch if one is scheduled at that time. There is bus service nearby and lots of restaurants within walking distance. The marina is busy on the weekends with fishermen and it is a working boatyard, but those were the only negative aspects. Good access from the ocean, but not quite as convenient from the ICW. We will definitely stay there again when we can catch a shuttle launch.

We spent time at English Jim''s Marina in Daytona Beach and Seven seas Marina in Pt. Orange--next door to Daytona Bch. Both are clean/pleasant facilities. Daytona Bch. has an outstanding farmers market every Sat. at area near City Library--good buys on fresh Veggies!

One of the absolutely nicest marinas in the Daytona area is the municapally owned Halifax Harbor Marina in downtown Daytona Beach. You would be advised to call ahead for reservations there as many snowbirds congregate there this time of year. I personally think its the nicest marina on the east coast. Well run, well maintained and great staff. Had a boat in there for two years and hated to leave, but moved to the SW coast of FL.

Down at Titusville on the ICW you have the Kennedy Point Marina that is very nice with good facilities. Also the municipal marina in Titusville is good also.

It would be advised to try and estimate your arrival dates in any place you want to tie up and make reservations...to ward off disappointment.
