Question Home Rental While Cruising

Hello All,

Whilst struggling with upgrading my P365 Ketch(refrigeration, electricals, standing and running rigging, etc...) another conundrum came up. What to do with our house for the 12-14 months we will be gone. We live near the coast of Maine (on one of the major rivers to the ocean) and I would like to be able to rent the house with mooring instead of closing it up. I figure there must be a mechanism within the cruising community that has figured this issue out as well. Does anyone know if there is a regional or local cruising rental friendly process.
Thanks and Happy Holidays

Don't know of any specific agencies, but the two things that are constant when renting are someone to manage the property and a quality leasee. I don't know what the business climate in your area is, but someone on a temporary relocation might be a good person to rent to.

You might also inquire around any local boatyards for someone doing a refit or other year long job on their boat as a possible renter. Or someone cruising who would like to spend some time in the area.

Regards,
