cruising in channel islands

Greetings,

does anyone have any advice to offer w.r.t sailing and anchoring in the channel islands off of santa barbara?

What would you like to know? We have done it for years. Must have 2 GOOD anchors in that most cove require fore and aft. Need to get permit (easy) from The Nature Conservancy--805-962 9111. Best and most accessible Island is Santa Cruz, with ancorages on both north and south sides. Where do you live or where will you be leaving from?

Good information from Zaslow about Brian Fagan''s book. We cruised the islands this past summer, July and August 01, had Fagan''s book and found it to be a little over-dramatic. Fagan''s book assumes the worst and assumes you know nothing. If you have sailed extensively and done quite a bit of anchoring you won''t have any problems.
We would recommend rocker-stoppers as most of the anchorages we encountered were rolly.
