Anchorages I've used
Some of the anchorages I've used along the way.
Florida
Indian Key - west side of island there are 5 new mooring balls, as well as room to drop the hook. Shore is just a short dinghy ride away, though I'm not sure what's available in that area.
Marine Stadium - Just north of the southernmost Miami bridge, is the unused Miami Marine Stadium. Good holding and protection, except from the west. Weekends though, it can be hectic with jetskis and tubers, wakeboards and skiers. The jetskis (no suprise) are the most obnoxious.
North End of Lake Worth - A small cove off the ICW channel, good holding and protection, as well as plenty of room.
Fort Pierce - South side of Causeway Island, go back between green 7 and 9 and drop the hook on the south side of the channel. Good holding, not much protection except from the north.
Saint Augustine - Salt Run is listed as an anchorage, but it's poor holding in gooey mud. I ended up taking up an unused mooring ball. Fair protection.
South Carolina
Skull Creek - On the northwest side of Hilton Head Island, it's easily reached from the ICW or coming in Port Royal Inlet from offshore. Good holding, fair protection. Wakes from boats at a nearby marina can be annoying during the daytime.
I'll add to these as I stop more.
