Bahamas - July to December

Hello-

I hear everyone saying to stay away from the bahamas during hurricane season. Is it not even posible to sail during these times? I have from july 1 to mid-december to sail out of south florida. I would like any advise I can get on this issue. I hear the water is warm, the sun is hot and the tourists are gone during this time. That is appealing to me. I won''t mind having to wait out storms when I need to, I will be flexible as far as that goes.

If it is not possible to go during this time, are there any area of the carribean that are good to sail during this period?

if you head south in the caribbean down to trinadad or south you miss the hurricanes.
