Looking for info on Port Colborne

My wife and I do a lot of day sailing in the Buffalo NY area, but we have never done any kind of cruising. Port Colborne seems to be a popular destination with folks in this area and we are interested in trying to make a trip there, but we know nothing about it and I have some very basic questions. Where exactly do you stay, what can you see and do while you are there, and how do you handle customs on arrival and return? Thanks

timangiel,

look at this web page which will give you some info: http://city.portcolborne.on.ca/

When you are approaching an arrival place you can call Canadian customs (called Canada Border Services Agency) up to four hours ahead at 1-888-226-7277 to notify them. If you forget, you can dock at a marina and call them from the nearest phone booth. They either take the info over the phone or advise you to stay on your boat and wait for the customs officer. Either way the procedure is simple.

Good luck,

Rodz
