As many people will be heading south down the ICW within the next month or so, I found these videos and thought that they may be helpful. They cover the areas of the ICW that you need to be careful in.

Is it just me? I tried playing the clips, the intro clip ran fine but the specific area clips had audio but no picture.

I just played the little mud river one to check, and it played fine. Audio & Video.

I clicked on the url and got audio only.

Clicking on the link at the top of the page played the video after the second click.

I too tried to play the video with no luck. I was wondering if someone could tell what the maximum draft the ICW from NJ to Fla. will accomdate?

Rather the left clicking, right click and tell it to "open", by right clicking on the link. All 6 videos worked for me. You could also download them into a temporary folder and they will also play that way.

There are links at the top of the page in a black bar with the names of the videos. Click one of those and then click a second time on the video and it should run.
don't try to use the long URL link, that's the one I couldn't get to work.

Salty...you have to go offshore in NJ if you have more than a 4ft. draft. You can do this in day hops down the Jersey shore in settled weather pulling into Manasquan, Atlantic City and Cape May inlets for nightly shelter.

The "real" ICW mile zero starts in Norfolk and can be done with up to a bit over a 6ft. draft...though some sections in SC and GA are shallower at low tide but you have a 6-8 ft. tide to work with in those shoal areas so you can get through if you time it or wait.
Suggest you search "ICW" here for lots more infomation and of course post again with any other questions. Welcome aboard.

I'm not familiar with the east coast ICW other than the Fl. St.Lucie inlet and the Okeechobee waterway but this site has some good info on some of the South Florida inlets. ...

While sitting on my boat today at the marina I felt like I was watching a parade seeing all the boats going south. I am located at Mile marker 1 ICW. I pray I can go south next year.
