Yikes !!

Sitting at anchor while Noel ambles by is definitely not my idea of fun. Even this far away (300nm) it's nasty. Drug across the river last night, so I moved to a more (very slightly) protected spot further in. Took 4 tries to get a good 2 anchor set, but it seems to be holding. I get the feeling I won't get much sleep tonight, as it suppose to only get worse. Buckle up you folks on the Cheesie, you're next.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

John,
You used to give your Lot/Lon so we knew where you were.
I admit I have not been keeping track of you, so where are you, NC?

I'm back in the South River near Oriental. I'm hanging on a 35 lb CQR with 30' chain and 250' rode and a 22 lb Fortress with 10' chain and 100' rode. So far, about 4:1 scope seems to be working the best. Tried more, but I couldn't stay put on it. Too nasty to use the dinghy to set the 2nd anchor, so I don't have as good an angle between the two as I'd like. And just to make it real fun, it's suppose to get down in the 30's. Oh joy !

PB,
If you get to Oriental and are bored, let me know. There are a couple of boats I'd like an opinion on!

Sounds like a pretty good setup for a boat your size. I guess you'll be breaking out the polarfleece today.
