Help -- Cruising Mexico's East Coast

My wife and I are considering a return in May, 2008, from the NW Caribbean to South Texas via the Eastern coast of Mexico with possible stops at Puerto Yukalpetén/Progresso, Lerma/Campeche, Isla del Carmen, Veracruz, Tuxpan, and finally Tampico. We would very much appreciate receiving information from other cruisers that have made this journey and/or visited any of these ports. We do have the Rain's cruising guide that covers this region, but it is not very detailed and much of the information may be out-of-date.
