Anyone been to Grenada? I will going thier this saturday for ten days on buisness. We will be working outside, what kind of weather can I expect?

Castro built a lovely airport on the south end of Grenada prior to the "invasion." The attitude toward the "invasion" is mixed, but generally people are great. The flags on the sides of multi-million dollar shacks on the south end are part of the answer as to why the U.S. invaded. A number of Ron''s friends had homes there. Haven''t been there in a few years. No high rises, beautiful beaches (Grand Anse) and a picturesque main harbor (St. Georges). It''ll be in the ''90''s, unbearable in the lee, beautiful in the breezes. Load up with sun schmoo. Hang out in the south. Let us know how the new boat yard is doing. KW

Hi Thomas,
Wife and I just came back from a bareboat charter out of St. Vincent and sailed to Grenada.
Anchored in Prickly Bay for four days. Did tour with a local and stayed in and around the bay. People we met in town and elsewhere were great. No animosity. One reference to the execution of the man who was in charge during the US involvement and that related to who did it.
Weather is hot. Town of St Georges is small and congested but interesting. From others there at the time the best place to hang in at the southern end of the island.

Am here now re-building the pool at Rendevous beach resort overlooking Prickly Bay.I dingy around in the afternoons (the locals stop work at 3pm.) Nice.Am inspired with all of the cruisers and thier boats.Really puts things into perspective when most of the talk around here is proper boat for the ICW or Cheaseapeak. Some of these lads are from all over the world on boats that would not even deserve to be mentioned .thomas

Last time I was on Grenada two guys sailed in from somewhere on the east side of the Atlantic in a pudgy little 24'' production sailboat (not a Compac or anything approaching). We were sitting at the boatyard bar there on the southwest end of Grenada when they rolled in, did the customs thing and proceeded to get trashed. They were walking sideways before they ever got to the bar. There''s people cruising down here from Puerto la Cruz to the Bahamas on a wing and a prayer.
