MY wife and I are hoping to sail to the USVI next years and will be working there for six months. We need recommendations on marinas allowing live aboards. We don''t need a resort style atmosphere. Just someplace with well protected slips, and the basic amenities, water, electric, showers&toilets.

Compass Point Marina and Independent Boatyard Marina. I don''t think American Yacht Harbor allows liveaboards. Possibly LaVida Marina, too. The former two have showers, etc. The latter doesn''t, but has bathrooms. Probably the best bet would be Compass for comfort, bottom-paint-dustless air (not downwind of boatyard) and convenience in and out. Suggest early booking. Crown Bay probably doesn''t allow liveaboards, either. That about covers it.
