Distance from Bahamas to the Carolinas?

Specifically from G-town, but would take the info from any Bahamas point. Filling out sailing resume for insurance company, and need the offshore mileage.

Thanks,

I do not know the mileage, but give google earth a try.

earth.google.com

Its free, and has a ruler feature that you can set to display NMs. Then you can measure whatever trips you want to take and get the mileage. Quite handy, I have used it to measure distances in the Puget Sound area quite a bit.

Call it 600 nautical miles from the lattitude of Miami to Beaufort Inlet.

The exact distance from Georgetown going outside to Moorehead City is 683 Nautical Miles and if you go the 270 miles up the Exhumas to Nassau to Marsh Harbor and then go outside at the Whale, it would be exactly 463 miles direct from the Whale to Moorehead City. Hope this helps.

Hey Daniel...are you going to have e-mail capability on your rally?
Maybe we can set up a thread where I could post a daily report for you so the group can follow along? Do-able?

I'm not sure if we'll have good email access along the way. However, we're having daily skeds via conference call, and Tim Hasson is quarterbacking our skeds from shoreside. We're going to track weather, positions, and all the usual information. I'll check with Tim to see if he's willing either to provide an email update, or simply to post updates directly to a thread (which would be easier for you). My gut tells me he'd be very willing to do that (not sure if you know Tim, but a more agreeable and helpful guy is hard to find). Even if for some unforeseen reason Tim can't play that role, I always could call you with updates (we'll have a satphone).

Thanks for the idea Cam, and I'll check with Tim.
