Sea of Cortez from San Diego with a trailerable sailboat?

We are thinking of going on a short (1-2 months) cruise of the Sea of Cortez late this summer. We want to trailer our West Wight Potter 19 from San Diego and are looking for a good place to launch that is not too far from San Diego (my folks will be driving the truck and trailer back to San Diego and pick us up after our cruise). Also in need of any other advice about sailing in that area any of you good people might have. Thank you!

That's really not the best time to be in the region with any boat much less a 19 footer, that's hurricane season down there
