family friendly marina north of Winthrop Harbor

First year cruising on L. Michigan, and would love to take my wife and 3 kids (14, 12, 9) on an overnighter to either Racine, or somewhere just south of Milwaukee. I'd like to keep the sailing time to the destination to be no more than 9 hours. We'd be flexible with the weather to avoid storms.
My goal is to make this an easy, fun, short summer cruise so everyone will have fond memories, and hopefully want more in the future!

If you have any experience with marinas/transient slips in either of these two areas, I'd love to here it! Some amenities we'd love:
restaurant(s) in walking distance
a swimming pool to cool off in.

Someone at Northpoint Marina mentioned to me a marina he really liked on the south side of Milwaukee, but he couldn't remember the name.

The Root river in Racine seems like it might also be a good overnight spot.

Then, there's always Kenosha, but it seems too close to classify as a 'trip' to me.

Reef Point Marina in Racine has very nice family friendly facilities.
That includeds a swimming pool for the kids.
Depending on the lake conditions, it should be an easy sail from Winthrop Harbor.
