crew fell thru and sh to li sound

folks who had told me they would crew for me and even gave me some potential dates - for a run from cheaspeake bay to long island sound - backed out suddenly
so i will single hand and change my route a bit and just wanted to make sure it made sense
from cheaspeake bay to cheaspeake city to wait on tides and weather to run from cheaspeake city to cape may (i have a 56' mast so do even suggest the canel with the 55' bridge i will not do it even at low tide)
do a rest at cape may and then cape may to sandy hook - est 36 or so hours
rest day at sandy hook - day or two and wait for good weather
then sandy hook to the outside to block island or round montauk to anchorage - est 36 hours
for those who have done it does this make sense??
ps - soulmates is a 40' jeanneau ds
thanks

camaraderie is a jewel in the rough camaraderie is a jewel in the rough camaraderie is a jewel in the rough
Chuck...I would dispense with the Sandy Hook leg and just head straight to Montauk from Cape May...then rest in the Peconic side before heading to Block. If that seems a bit long for you then Atlantic City is another all weather inlet with a better angle to Montauk.

Rockter will become famous soon enough
Chuck...

It's an old problem. They normally cry off on a Thursday, leaving you no time to find another crew.

You are probably better off alone, damn whiney crew anyway.

I might be able to help you with crew.

Also, what's your destination on LIS? You might consider going through NYC and then through the Sound that way. Gives you more options in terms of pulling in to a harbor to sleep or wait out weather. Just a thought.

Daniel - no real destination - just going to gunk hole the whole thing - a little here and a little there - actually may leave cambridge this am and head north with a buddy boat that has done it before - althrough they are using canal into cape may and i have to go around due to bridge and mast height - if we meet up in cape may will buddy boat with them through nyc - otherwise will probably be outside all the way up
if you want to sail on li sound this aug/sept let me know - send me private email
thanks
