Best cruising destination for 10 friends in search of a party!

Hi guys,

I am new to the forum, and to sailing for that matter.

I am going to arrange a sailing holiday for next year, likely to be for 10 friends, a couple of experienced sailors, a couple of dayskippers and six smiling, willing (but likely a little drunk!) newbie crew.

We are all mid-twenties and will be looking to have a fun time - great beaches, great nightlife, picturesque snorkeling etc. It would be great if we didn't do too many routes over eight hours.

If anyone has done a two week, very fun, nightlife packed sailing trip that would be a great first bare charter for us, then please let me know!!

The BVI's would suit your group well, short sailing distances, some good snokeling, great nightlife.

We just finished our 12th. charter there!!

A group that size would do well on a large cat or a couple of 40's monohulls.

We had 4 teen girls aboard so did not hit the night life real hard, if you want to whoop it there many places that will be just great:
Bomba Shack for full Moon Party!
Willy T's for crazy fun (some nudity and kinkyness very possible)
Quitos (Live reggae, eat elsewhere first)

Just get a copy of Limin' times when you get there, tells you where everything is happening.

Now here surely, is absolute justification for setting the dogs onto a newcomer in the hope of driving vile pestilential creature from our midst.

Nonetheless in the spirit of the new age., loving and gentle SailNet might I suggest Dwyer Island off the South West Coast of South Africa. I'd especially ecourage you to indulge in a spot of moonlit skinny dipping.

If my pestilential characteristics are the likilihood to spread fun laughter ... and the occassional bottle of rum or three, I'll keep the adjective!!

Thanks a lot for the BVI suggestion, sounds like the obvious winner - I will be sure to warn the whole community - though it's likely that the females within our party will ensure that we are kept in check!

Luke - sorry to have to disappoint you, but I can heartily recommend the BVI as well. Boat-based partying has been described already but I think they missed JVD's white bay and the fine establishments there, none of whom will make it into Zagats or the Gault Millau but which have other, more tangible, benefits.
I'm off to check out the off-season next week.
