Good pics, Jan - you may recall we had a visit at Sturt Bay, Vananda, when you and your family came aboard "FastForward" for a chat and a visit.

Though we left you waiting for better weather, clearly from your photos you found some!

Nice post!!!

Beautiful pixs. I have fished north of there for about 4 years and love to see photos of the area.

hi again! you were the couple from squamish that gave us wonderful beta about jedediah, including a hand drawn chart produced on the spot with amazing accuracy.

Actually we left Squamish a few years back, but I'm glad that sketch was of use to you... and I hope you found Jedidiah as wonderful as we do...

It was a pleasant surprise to recognize your pictures here.

It is actually halfway up jervis, and a very useful little spot for slow, ponderous boats like ours that doesn't have to make haste all the way to princess louisa in a day. Also, it is very pretty, quiet and totally protected from up-inlet winds.
we anchored in 6' with shore tie.

Your McMagic Bay, charted as McMurray Bay is also featured in the Dreamspeaker cruising guides, Ch 11.4.

It's beautiful and to think we sailed by and missed it completely.. next time. (though doubt we could tuck in a close as you did!)

jrd22 will become famous soon enough
Nik- great post, really enjoyed the pictures. I'll have to go slower next time up Jervis, obviously I've missed some things beelining for Malibu. Stop by and say hi if you get out to Blakely Is.

Small world running into Faster, I hope to bump into him (figuratively)one of these days too.

thanks for the comment.
McMurray is, I believe, is the open south facing bight in bottom of the detail pic, right above the word 'image'. beautiful beach but very open for anchorage.

Source: Wolferstan; Cruising Guide to B.C., Vol. 2: Desolation Sound

but anyway, that is all splitting hairs. the important thing for a passing mariner is that the one we stayed in is sheltered for upslope winds, the other one marginally for downslope.

What a stunner of a boat and a stunner of a cruise.

Most people here know that I dream of cruising that area and now you come along and make me even more desperate. Curses.

Hey Raining, get that baby of yours juiced up and ready to go.

I keep telling you, don't just lend the boat, rent out the kids and come with us.

NikolaJson - Thank you so much.

Nimle 20 eh ? I think I want one.

Edit - Ha !! Brewer design. No wonder I liked it.
