we are leaving the canaries around january 8 for guadaloupe.i am looking to talk on ssb to anyone that is leaving the canaries or other points in europe in january to the caribbean. please e-mail here or kimberlt@optonline.net

While it isn''t exactly what you were asking for, don''t overlook the option of working Herb (SOUTHBOUND II) each evening/afternoon during your cross. You''ll pick up the boat names of others on that route (and can even make contact to set up a separate sked during the ''call-up'' period 30 mins before his Net. Also, his weather routing is excellent on that route from what I''ve seen.

Have you posted any extended logs or summary conclusions about visiting Europe that I could review? We''re considering Europe & the Med as a ''next cruise'' and have been digging for some detail on how things are these days (costs, EU issues, etc.). If so, please let me know, either here or via email. Thanks.

i have been talking to herb for the last 12 years.
we originally started with him when he was in bermuda.
i was really looking for someone to chat with during my passage.

Eric, I still think you''d find Herb''s net a useful vehicle for ID''ing other passagemakers doing the same route you are planning, at the same time. At least, that''s always been true for us.

i have been using herb for weather and to find out who else is in the area for many years.
what i am trying to find is other boats that are planning the same passage.
