anchorage mooring clutter

Why do I have this feeling that saving the reef system in the BVI''s has turned into a money making scheme. For the 10 day vacation crowd paying 20 bucks a night may not be a big deal especially if it is shared with others but for the long term cruiser as I am about to become my budget has just gone thru the roof. It seems like I do not even have the option of staying on the hook because they have crammed so many moorings in each anchorage that there is no room left to swing on the hook. I guess we will blow right by the BVI''s but I am afraid this system will soon be common throughout the Caribbean

Even with the large number of moorings there are still many many good places to anchor in the BVI. In fact the places without moorings are the least crowded and probably more to your liking.
