How I spent my vacation :)
Speaking of SPOT messenger, here are messages sent by my SPOT on the sail from St. Thomas to Curacao. It lost a few messages for sure, sometimes up to an hour, though perhaps partially because sea conditions sucked and messenger was not always facing anything useful.
This route clocks at 468nm, about 25 nm longer than the "ideal" route - not too bad.
This was sailed on a friend's HR Monsoon, as mentioned elsewhere.
