dose any one have any contact info for any flotillas from florida to the bahamas and possibly fruther?

I'd contact someone from Gulfstream Sailing club or Hillsboro Inlet Sailing Club. Google their sites and call their Commodores.

Also, Abaco race week coming up, so there will be people going. Unfortunately, there will be more people going the opposite way as this is now Hurricane season and more people will be looking to get out of dodge than to go in. Bahamas are not very protected from storms at all.

Mad...if you want company for your gulf stream crossing, all you have to do is go to the staging harbors and wait for the right weather....everyone leaves together!
The staging harbor for the Abacos is the north end anchorage in Lake Worth and leaves from the Lake Worth (West Palm Beach) inlet. The staging harbor for Bimini is No Name Key south of Miami.
There are lots of Bahamas cruising/crossing threads here...do a search!!

Most crossings are made in the November-Feb period so that you avoid hurricane season and still have lots of time to cruise. Once IN the Bahamas there are always groups that organize for different passages that get together over the VHF morning nets....and you can get on the radio yourself to organize something.
