fin keel sitting on the bottom?

As I plan a trip to Nova Scotia it looks like being able to "sit on the hard bottom" while lying against a dock will be a huge advantage. I am familiar with doing it on a Giles 38 with a full keel but am wondering about the possibility of doing it, if necessary, with my fin keel Islander.

Any advice will be appreciated.
