I actually find the indifference of the elements comforting. I don't spend time yelling at the wind or the water, or praying to a god. I just get on with keeping the boat sailing, knowing that the sea doesn't give a damn one way or another whether I drown or not.

Telesailor,

There is no reason why , just because you buy a boat and move on board, that you need to immediately start crossing oceans. Hell, you could spend a year or more jjust exploring the local waters while you polish up your skills.
