I might be making a trip from Annapolis to Beaufort around the end of November.

How long should it take using sail and or motor ?

Don't have too much free time , so it will be full ahead making time, only in the daylight.

Can most of this be done on the icw ?

thanks

About thirty hours from Annapolis to Mile 0 and then roughly 120 statute miles to Beaufort. 40 miles a day, 3 or 4 days. So, weather permitting, a week should do you. The hardest bit will be the run down the Chesapeake this time of the year. Whenever I did it, it was usually on the nose. It's best to do the Chesapeake in one shot if you're pressed for time. It's all ICW once you get to the Hospital anchorage (Mile 0) in Portsmouth. If you don't want to do the Chesapeake in one shot, add another three or four days. And again, weather permitting.
