More Solo RTW Nonsense...

Seems like the new thing to do these days is to be the youngest to sail solo nonstop around the world. I must admit, I have the same dream as the past three (sunderland, perham, and watson), except I don't expect or plan to break any records or be in the spotlight of the media. But let's just say I were 17 years old and had a goal to sail non-stop, singlehanded, totally unassisted around the world within the next five years; how/where would i start planning my journey

Start with the proper boat... and with the pilot charts/sailing directions... at least in terms of planning. Jimmy Cornell's World Cruising Routes has some basic routes for doing circumnavigations in it as well...
