Cruising List of Things To Take With You

Looking for a good list of things we need to take cruising for the Caribbean from safety equipment, daily living supplies, tools etc..

I'll start with a pad and pencil.
Have you thought of using Google?

Safety equipment should include the following:

Flares
Jacklines
Tethers
Harnesses
PFDs
Lifesling
Flashlights
Strobes
Whistles
Horn
Fire Extinguishers
EPIRB
Charts
A really good Anchor and rode
Rigging knives
Handheld VHF

Tools.... look at the post I wrote on a Cruising Sailboat's tool kit, located The Cruising Sailor's Toolkit | Adrift at Sea.

The daily living supplies varies too much, depending on personal habit, preference, number of people, hobbies, etc.

Always pack your passport and cruise documents in your carry on bag ONLY.

The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM, so take:
-swim wear (at least 2),
-shorts, tank tops and "T's"
-sandals,
-beach shoes,
-your snorkel equipment if you have it,
-sun glasses and sun screen,
-lotions,
-a cap or big hat for the sun,
-a book if you are a reader,
-your music player,
-sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym,
-good walking shoes,
-your camera, and
-other personal toiletries including tooth paste, mouth wash or lotions.

Uhh, We're not talking about a cruise ship. We're talking about a cruising sailboat here.

Every time i have taken a boat to the Islands, I pack $50 worth of T shirts. The kind you can get from the street venders here in New York for 4 or 5 for $10 sometimes 6 for $10. Giving a T shirt as a gift can buy you 100X's more good will with the locals then the $2 it cost you. Think fuel docks, taxi drivers, etc.
