Ice Blink

I just got finished watching Ice Blink. What a great story. I watched it with the woman I'm hoping will sail away with me- I think it was a good choice!
If you haven't seen it, get a copy!

Barn, don't sail there. It's cold.

I'm definitely drawn to sail places like that. I certainly love the sun and blue water of the islands, but the solitude, scenery and quiet of the north pull me quite hard. I can see myself in a bit of a circle, summers up north and winters down south. The Seattle/Alaska/Baja idea is pretty attractive, too.

I've always wanted a steel boat, too. I know there are drawbacks, but for some reason it always seemed "right". When browsing through the boat listings my eye is always caught by boats with little diesel furnaces, too.
Seeing a theme?

Well, just so you know, Dave and Jaja have sold their steel boat and built a plywood catamaran with the intention of spending time in the Bahamas...
