Boat Insurance

Can anyone suggest an insurance company providing coverage in the Carribbean - out of hurricane season of course.

Try Al Golden at IMIS 800-541-4647
e-mail mail@imiscorp.net

or: Scott Stusek @ 410-626-1000

they both have done me good. Including a hurricane loss in the caribbean

I second twocann''s rec on Al & Gary Golden at IMIS. Former cruisers and with a long history of rave reviews by customers in tough circumstances, you probably can''t do better.

BTW the trend seems to be away from geographical restrictions during storm season in the Caribbean now (e.g. "you must be below 12N by July 1st) and towards a higher imposed deductible if the boat is damaged by a named storm. But that was in 2000-2002; the insurance industry always seems to be falling out of love with one strategy and in love with another, as they find it painful to pay settlements but still pleasing to collect premiums.
