Looking for advice

I have a 3 year plan to end up in Costa Rica living on a boat. Would you recommend Pacific side of Costa vs the Caribbean? I am looking for any pro's or con's to Costa Rica coastal living!! I plan to go back to Costa Rica this summer and would love to hook up with someone who sails there. I do not have a boat as of yet. I started crewing last summer on a friends boat in Georgian Bay, Ontario (perviously knew how to sail). My goal is to have a 40'+/- Beneteau.
Any info anyone could help me with would be awesomely appreciated!!!!

On the Caribbean side of Costa Rica it rains. A lot.
