Situation Wanted: Boatsitting For Responsible Couple Oct - May

We are a professional, responsible couple looking for a boatsitting opportunity from October 2010 – April 2011 in the Port Charlotte, FL area. We are interested in a sailboat, cabin cruiser or houseboat. The important thing for us is being south for the winter and near water since we ultimately want to become full time cruisers. Last winter we explored the west coast of Florida and were really drawn to Charlotte Harbor.

If you have a boat for sale, this is the perfect opportunity to offset some of your costs, plus you have the comfort of knowing your boat is not vacant and is being well cared for. Rest assured we will keep it in show-ready condition at all times. We will provide full insurance coverage for the boat and our few belongings, as well as liability.

We are both experienced boaters; Jim lived aboard a 32' cabin cruiser for two years, and Colette races J-25 sailboats competitively. We are both earning our ASA bareboat charter certifications this winter while we are in Port Charlotte. Jim is extremely handy with everything from fiberglass work to engine overhauls to electrical. Colette can do minor repairs and rehab, and has a way of leaving places cleaner than she found them.
