Fair Winds, Snowbirds!

Went sailing twice this week, both great days. On Tuesday I saw a black schooner motoring west. I recognized it from Oyster Bay. I closed with him under sail, we exchanged compliments. Later, I decided to sail into Port Jeff and find him. Came alongside, accepted an invitation aboard. Nice guy, lives aboard, headed south from Maine. I also saw a lovely gaff ketch come in, and a very large marconi ketch. Thursday I crossed close astern of a Bristol Channel Cutter, all rigged for cruising. I guess it's that time of year, to see visitors passing through, southbound. I wish them well, but it gave me a bit of cruising envy.

Yep, with October coming they'll be passing through the Chesapeake soon. This time of year, we usually see a steady stream of flags bearing the Canadian Maple Leaf, all with their bows pointing south.

We leave the Bay for Sint Maarten in 4+ weeks. It is getting too cold here.

Our Canadian Maple Leaf is waiting for it to warm-up before we continue south. We're in Callao, Peru, and it is early spring here.

Two weeks until we drive to Florida and then two weeks getting the boat ready to go and then we are off in the general direction of NZ. Getting pretty antsy I can tell you.

All typing is right-handed at this point. We will leave Ainia in SA and head north and west in the early southern summer ~Oct/Nov?

You can check OnAinia.blogspot.com for updates on our travels whenever I get around to it.
