Anchoring fees
The province of British Columbia has begun charging $2/meter for dropping anchor within the limits of about 10 marine parks. The decision is very unpopular and may not even be legal, since the same fee was struck down by the Ontario courts since navigable water, and the right to anchor to the seabed in same, is a Federal Jurisdiction. Is there a precedent in US waters for charging boaters for anchoring? Is this over the top, or is British Columbia finally catching up to the way it is everywhere else?
