Hi, i'm planning to sail to the Azores leaving from The east coast of Canada, in the upcoming spring, looking for any advice and where to find info on what documents I need for landing things like that thanks. any help appreciated.

www.noonsite.com, jimmy cornell's old website that was bought out is a good starting point. That has customs information on most anyplace you'd be going. However, it isn't always 100% current, but gives you a good start on the right information.

Jimmy Cornell's World Cruising Routes is a good book to read and use as a basis for planning such a voyage as well.

Ašores are Portuguese islands so the customs are exactly the same as in any EC country. They are quite laid back about it and all yachtmen are very well welcomed. Don't forget to go to Peter's for a drink or to try the Pico wine and the cheese from S.Jorge and from Terceira, specially if you like it spicy.

The Islands are very beautiful in a savage way and the Ašoreanos are very nice people. Enjoy the stay and keep us posted;)
