Country''''s to not bring pets to???
The only areas I know for sure an American can bring his/her State-side pets are: Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Both of these areas have been protectorates of the USA - and for some time.
Your school let you down if they didn''t teach you that Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas) are part of the USA. Everyone born on those Islands are (by definition) American citizens.
The pets Americans own can travel freely between States and protectorates of the USA, except for State imposed restrictions. For example, it''s illegal to import Prarie Dogs into GA. Also, Hawaii doesn''t allow importation of snakes. There are probably other states that have bans on other pets.
Check with the Department of Agriculture, and the State''s and/or Island''s governement that you plan to visit.
