BAHAMAS CRUISSING PERMIT $300. ??

Hearing on the Atlantic Waterway Net that the government of the Bahamas is increasing the cost of a cruising permit from $100. to $300. Cannot locate a official source for this information. Does anyone have more information? Thanks.

I think it''s still $100 for 2003.

Just received this letter via e-mail 11:00 am, 6/12...
I guess they got nervous with all the calls that they received this morning.
letter stated:

As of yesterday evening the fee was tabled until January 2004. The fee of
$300 was collected yesterday morning and yesterday evening they tabled the
fee. Bahamas Customs is continuing to collect the $100 fee as of now.
Please pass this information on to your felow boaters. Thank you for your
concern and for cruising The Islands of The Bahamas.
