29ft cruising

Hi,

Just obtained a Compass 29 (Aussie built) full keel sloop, and intend to cruise the pacific and possibly back through indian ocean to mauritius (originating from Australia), ultimately to europe...as such I am curious as to others that have done this on a 29ft or smaller boat and their experience. I intend to do this with my wife and 4yo son.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Best regards,

Tommy (Viva Vita)

Tommy,

My husband and live and cruise aboard a Baba 30, though we are doing coastal cruising rather than ocean cruising at the moment.

When I cruised in Latin America, I met several folks who were going long distances on small boats. One family, a couple and young son, were sailing a Norsea 27, and a mother and son combo were on a Dana. these are just two examples.

Though I can''t give you details about how they worked things, I hope just knowing that there are families out there going over far horizons in boats in your size range. I look forward to seeing what others in this forum have to say about the details of cruising in a situation like yours.

And I look forward to hearing about YOUR adventure!!!

Thank you so much for the kind compliment about my site!!!!

May I quote you on the site? I assume that others are like me, and it always makes a difference to me when I see other peoples'' comments about a site.

And if it IS okay, how may I cite you? It would be "Jeff from ----" ... where are you located?
