We had some stubborn mold/staining that nothing seemed to work on, including the more expensive caustic sprays and scrubbing. Then just for kicks I tried baking soda + water and the black stuff washed away just like a bad infomercial. Only thing I could figure is that there's more than one strain of mold; some hate acid environments like vinegar & lemon oil; others hate basic environments (baking soda or ammonia).
