Life Raft

Does anyone know where tio get a reasonable priced life raft? Need one soon. I saw one on Craigslist but it needed to be serviced. Does anyone know how long that process takes? Thanks

Be cautious abut buying a liferaft that needs servicing if either the last service is some years ago and or the raft is more than 7 years old and not currently serviced.

The service company often finds them U/S.

joann, servicing should be a matter of taking your raft in--in person--and physically watching the servicing. So you understand the raft, and also to make sure the service is done properly. There have been a few incidents where it was documented not done.

Shipping it in, folks have reported anywhere from a couple of weeks to many months, there's no guarantee once it leave your hands.

And as mentioned, servicing an older "bargain" raft can be a very expensive process, especially if the raft is condemned or needs extensive service. For a one-shot, a rental might be the way to go.
