Point Conception under SAIL
hi,
I''m getting ready to make my first pass across Point Conception (central California) and the 2 "definative" books I''ve read on the subject are both written by the same person, who, oddly enough, says the same thing in both books. wait till the middle of the night when winds will be too weak to sail, and motor up.
I''m gonna be coming from the south, probibly from Cojo, but my night before will be at San Miguel, so if it''s better to come in from that far off, I can do that too.
I''m gonna be single handing it in a 19 foot sloop, sea worthy enough. I would realy prefer to do it under sail, as I''m hoping to be able to not use the engine at all on this entire trip. Anyone done it? Thoughts? suggestions?
Thanks.
