Hi guys,

I’m trailering my sailboat (Corsair f-27 Tri) to Miami for the boat show in February. Afterwards, I will
sail Biscayne Bay and wait for a good weather window to make the Bimini crossing. Where should I slip/anchor it, during the show?

Where can I stash my Suburban and trailer for a month or so? Ideally, I like to contract with someone to pick up my vehicle and trailer at the docks and retrieve it for me on my return.

Any suggestions?

Also, I need to pick up a dingy. I seem to remember a “sailor’s market” that weekly had some pretty good deals at em. Can’t remember where they hold it.

Any pointers you can give me, will be much
appreciated.

Best to ya’s,

Rob in Austin

Rob, I''m not an expert for that area but I''d start with Dinner Key Marina and inquire about trailer/car storage, launching and what arrangements might exist for transport to the boat show from the marina. There''s also a small marina on Key Biscayne which might be able to accommodate both your boat and vehicle needs. A Waterway Guide for Florida would come in handy as you start needing phone #s, etc. There are bountiful launch areas all around the lower Miami/Key Biscayne area, including a state park on the KB, but I would place security of things at the top of my list of concerns when I made my plans.

Re: the dink search, you may be thinking about Sailorman, a consignment shop that sells all kinds of used/new stuff (''junk to jewels'' should be their motto...) and it is located in the same general area as many of the retail vendors. They''re on the web, I believe. OTOH don''t overlook prowling around the marinas in that area to see if someone would like to sell their ''back-up'' dink. Your trip sounds short enough - and in a developed enough island - that your dink needs should be modest.
