Pamlico Sound

Going South we usually take the Aligator/Pungo Canal past Belahven headed for Beaufort. We were thinking this time to go past Manteo and sail the Pamlico down to the Nuese to Adams Creek. The distance both ways is the same from the Albermarle. Anybody used this route before find it a advantage or disadvantage?. The main reason was last season the canal had a bunch of debris from all of the Spring rains.

Hi I dont know whether or not the canal has any debris in it now but it was in the path of Isabel and there are so many piles of debris all along the coastal region that it would be wise to contact NC dot and see if they have checked it out for submerged debris and cleaned it .
