Big Boat Limitations

The limitation I''m talking about is size. I''m thinking about moving up from 36'' to 40-42'', and as much as 13'' beam and +25,000lbs displacement. I''m concerned that the size may make it difficult to find slips and moorings as I cruise Long Island Sound. I''ve already found that at moorings the swinging room for my little 36 footer is less than ideal, and who knows how much the mooring anchor can hold.

What say you, big boat cruisers.
