First Voyage for First Time Sailers (Motorers)

So last summer, my son bought a 1973 Newport Mark II. We had to get her from Beaufort, SC to Charleston. We never had enough wind to put up the sails, so it was motor all the way. Probably just as well as we had no idea how to sail! Son has gained lots of experience since then so we will film some actual sailing this summer : )

Enjoy the scenery on this short little jaunt up the ICW...

Great video - I am hoping to post one of my own come spring! October in Michigan is not the best time to buy your first boat!

Curious to see how your first season of sailing was?

Cheers!

It was awesome! We had a lot of work to do on the boat to make sure it was ship shape, so mostly sailed around Charleston this year. Next year, will take some longer excursions up and down the coast.

Well it is a great time to buy price wise, but it makes for a long winter waiting to get to sail the boat for the first time.
