video: Westsail 42 Paragon, the Story So Far...

After being damaged in a collision at sea, Westsail 42 'Paragon' returns to Oriental, NC for a two and half year refit. We're finally ready to go back to sea..

Hi Drake,
gotta say I absolutely love the videos you have made and shared. The experience you had with Cptn A J Smith must have been something special. He came across as a great guy with total ability to train and keep control of any situation.

I have to admit, your videos have instilled the dream in me and my friends have also enjoyed watching them (means I get to watch them again with them).

Looking forward to your new adventures.
If you happen to get over to the Great Barrier Reef area sometime I would be stoked to catch up with you.

Cheers mate.

Hi Drake,

Big fan of your videos, I think I've watched just about all of them so far. I only have three subscriptions on Youtube; elevinwarriors for Ohio State football, the Volvo Ocean Race for awesomeness when they are not breaking their boats, and you, so your channel rates pretty well. :D

Looking forward to your next videos.

Drake,

The vid editing is really getting good!! I would love to see something even more complete about the refit. Seems like an above and below deck tour is in order!!

eSailor, Outwest34au, Argyle38, Minnewaska,

Thank you so much for your kind and inspiring words!

We're absolutely thrilled about our voyaging and filming plans for 2013! We plan to push off from Oriental, NC around March 15th and to sail 800+ miles up to coast to Boston. Then offshore to Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, Faeroe, Scotland and to arrive in Ireland October 1st.

We will be filming nonstop for the 7 months of the voyage and plan to spend Winter 2013/2014 in Ireland or England in editing a ton of episodes. I hope that they will tell a riveting story, and that the viewer will feel like they are experiencing the adventure with us.

Minnewaska, I think about making that tour of Paragon all the time! I hope to post a deck and cabin tour before pushing off from Boston.

Thank you for sailing with us,

Drake and Monique

That sounds like an awesome voyage. I have a loose plan to do a similar trip in a few years, at least up to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, so I'll be watching closely. Would like to do an Atlantic jump but that's a big move and depends on a lot (wife's tolerance of open water first and foremost).

Are you going offshore up to Boston. If you end up tucking in to Long Island sound, be sure to let us know. I'd be happy to buy you a beer if you ended up making port along the Connecticut coast. :)

Good luck!!
